The following document describes the various field information when submitting host information to Hostmaster.
Note: Only a Network Liaison can submit network information to Hostmaster. See Roles and Responsibilities for Use of the Rutgers Network
Host Name:
Host Name: The name you choose to identify the device
Domain: Rutgers.edu
ACL: This is the appropriate Access List number which identifies for your
network.

Address: The network IP Address
Mail Handler: The host (or machine) that should handle email directed to this machine.
Responsible Party: Registered Network Liaison

Location: Building, Room number or description, and Campus where the host is physically located.
Optional Information:
Hardware Type: Indicate type of equipment (i.e. Dell PIII, Apple G4,
Ultra 5)
OS: i.e. Windows 95, Windows 2000, Solaris 8
Owner: Owner of equipment
Realm: Name of the kerberos realm the host should be in. By
default, it will be in the RUTGERS.EDU realm. Most people
should ignore this unless you are using Kerberos.
